Poured Out

Taking a sip of a cup from vacation brings refreshment to more than the body. The memories refresh my soul as well.

“Poured out like a drink offering.”

I feel it. Multiple times a day my vessel is depleted as an offering to God and a service to others.

It is difficult to depend on moments which lack any type of demand as a moment of rest. The feeling of constant preparation for the next challenge is usually swirling in my mind.

What amazes me is that God replenishes my supply at will.

With those unantisipated calls to action comes unexpected insight, wisdom, and discernment.

Just as He provided a continual flow of oil for the widow of Zarephath, no matter how exhausted I feel, He supplies me with what He requests of me. In turn I can be ready to respond to His calling my name.
